The LCCFSS as it is known today started at Liverpool in 2005.
The club had originally been known as the NSW Synchronised Skating club
Incorporated. It changes its name to The Liverpool catholic Club Figure and
Synchronised Skating Club in 2005 and we had a number of skaters representing us
from its inception.
The Club promotes the sport of Figure Skating amongst its local
community and is proud to support all aspects of figure skating. Pairs dance and
Synchronised skating.
Membership has steadily grown over the last year and we have had
skaters represent us at Aussie Skate levels from tiny tots and Basic through to
junior level. Liverpool skaters have made us all proud with their achievements
particularly since we are a relatively 'young club' in the ice skating
world.
The National Aussie skate program runs a point score system
where points are awarded to each skater entering a competition and bonus points
for a place. For the 2005/20006 year Liverpool in its first year was proud to
take third place for the Club Competition. For the 2006/2007 season Liverpool is
currently placed first!
The club also runs its own point score system for skaters
attending competitions. Our Aim is to reward these skaters with a presentation
at the end of each year.
The club is an organisation run by the back bone of the skating
community the parents: Many skating parents can attest to the early mornings,
late nights and endless training sessions but the biggest reward is the joy of
watching their children skate and be involved in such a wonderful
sport.
The LCCFSS is an intra club of the Liverpool Catholic Club
considers it self very lucky to have the State of the art facilities available
to us. The catholic Club has assisted us with the introduction of Figure
sessions. Enabling LCC skaters to train on their own and develop their
skills.
As we are a new club with a great future ahead of us we need
everyone's help and understanding as we learn the ropes as we go along. There
will be hurdles to overcome and lessons to be learnt along the way but working
together we can help build the LCCFSS up as a club that not only can we its
members are proud of but also our local community. |
